American folk artist Patricia Palermino has been publishing her unique collection
of prints and note cards for 15 years. Her works are sold in numerous galleries
and are in many private and public collections including the White House
and the American Museum in Bath, England.
Using vibrant colors and a cast of playful characters, Palermino creates an array of magical scenes that combine a whimsical spirit with a hint of nostalgia. Each of her pieces is created in her Alexandria studio and proudly reflects the character and charisma found in many of the United State's
most popular cities and landmarks. The happy and detailed images entice
viewers of all ages, evoking smiles and pleasant memories.

“Celebration”, “joy”, “whimsy” and “humor” are words which are heard from viewers to describe the art of Pat Palermino. One young admirer pronounced “this folk art rocks!” at a recent exhibit.

Summertime and Mermaids“I am elated when I know that my art has elicited a positive response from the viewers”.
The majority of my work portrays the American landscape with a strong sense of color, patriotism and locale. Humor also plays a very large part in my interpretation of a subject which is apparent in pieces such as “ Mermaid 10K Today” Check out this whimsical painting found in the Summertime and Mermaids collection.

Commissioned and personal projects have included American monuments and landmarks: the U.S. Capitol, the White House, the Jefferson Memorial, the Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg , Gunston Hall, Mount Vernon, Independence Hall and many others.
Americana Paintings “Parades and celebrations are fun subjects!” and are captured in “The Alexandria Waterfront Festival”
